Paladin is a good class for new players, since it uses barely any potions. It's not exactly the best class in the game or the most favorited class by Nexon, but it has a ton of defense and an HP healing skill, making potion costs extremely low and easily affordable. Having to only pay for MP potions (which are cheap as hell for warriors) is very nice. It might take some dedication, though, to get up to the levels where you get those skills. I don't often play Korean MapleStory, so I do not know how expensive gear is there.

If not Paladin, I'd say make a Cygnus. They level up pretty fast, due to the +10% EXP boost they get after every level-up. Plus, for every 5 levels you achieve, you get an attack boost on any other character you will make. Their level caps at 120, which is pretty low, but it will still take some work. However, if you focus on using it properly, you can easily obtain the proper funds for a new, non-Cygnus class that you may desire to play after some time spent getting more acquainted with the game.

Oh, and Cygnus classes, once they reach level 120, can make an "Ultimate Adventurer." Ultimate Adventurers are more or less apprentices of the Knights of Cygnus, but they are of the Adventurer class type (the original 5 classes). Ultimate Adventurers start at level 50 and inherit two special skills from their Cygnus parent (it depends on which class your Ultimate Adventurer is. For example, if you make an Ultimate Adventurer Paladin, they will adopt the Soul summon and Soul Driver skill from the Soul Master class). However, whatever Cygnus class you chose to go with does not mean you have to make an Ultimate Adventurer of the same class. You can make a Pirate Cygnus and make a Warrior Ultimate Adventurer and the Warrior Ultimate Adventurer will still obtain the skills of the Warrior Cygnus class. Ultimate Adventurers are slightly easier to level up than their normal Adventurer counterpart, but they're somewhat difficult to make (it requires you to complete a ton of quests on your Cygnus character, one of the quests (the final one), requiring you to take a LOT of time out of your day to hunt for Peridots from a specific monster). The special perks you get from being an Ultimate Adventurer are very nice. You get special sets at level 50 and 70, so you don't need funding for those levels at all (except for potions, of course). Moreover, Ultimate Adventurers are given a skill that allows them to use equipment 10 levels higher than their own level, so if you're level 70, you can wear level 80 gear. It's pretty helpful.

Good luck with whatever you decide upon!

I recommend a cygnus knight because once you reach level 120 you can make a UA which are really strong without a whole lot of funding
