    Envy's Proposal

    Introduction, My Dream
So, First of all, I would like to just state that these are my personal opinions about this game, maplestory and how I think it could be revitalized. This thread is certainly NOT concerning feelings of nostalgia or such, as I do realize that the game would have gotten no where if it had not been changed. I completely understand that you may not agree and understand that your are entitled to state and argue your own, personal opinion. I am also aware that this will most likely change nothing, so enjoy my opinions on why maple is losing its edge~

    How it All Started
Lets look at this from the beginning, Maplestory was a game created over ten years ago by wizet targeted as an MMORPG with a classy 2D feel with adorable sprites and intricate yet retro design. The "purpose" of the game was to establish a community and work together to explore and advance through the vast, enormous thousands of maps available in the game. While the leveling pace may have been slower, it took the player through a journey, a voyage threw an entire unknown world, with an intertwined mix of party quests to draw players together as well as various maps to allow solo or party-play grinding. Bosses were a team effort, composed of massive expeditions and even entire guilds-- a great challenge, but also boasting a great reward.

    The Problem
HOWEVER, with each and every update Nexon releases, the game loses its original purpose, drawing further and further away from an adventure and pushing the player into more of a box. A player used to be able to explore hundreds of maps, completing quests, grinding out with parties of buddies, always welcome to new sceneries and objectives. Now, Players achieve level 200 in marginal times as low as even a single day. And in this, sometimes only about 10-20 different areas are used to achieve what used to be a legendary title with a hefty load of bragging rights.

    The Cure
Obviously, this would all be gibberish if i presented a problem and gave no suitable solvent. I believe that if Nexon backed away from compartmentalizing the game, dishing out new content, new classes, and new shortcuts (Not take away events, everyone loves them including me), but rather focused on utilizing the HUGE amount of wasted areas, wasted mobs, wasted creativity that probably 90% of maplers don't even see. I propose that a reconstruction of the game to give purpose to the entire world that once enchanted the game so should be revitalized, introducing a wider opportunity of training grounds, quest lines, and such forth. This would allow the player to explore, and maybe leave that WS2 Map or Golems Map or DiPQ etc. and actually enjoy a new scenic spot, a fresh quest, or an old tough boss. Because the game now practically spoon-feeds players to level 140, maps everywhere should be re-scaled and re-purposed to introduce a variety that was lost many years ago. To add a new freshness to the game, and keep its population before it crashes and burns.

    Your Opinion
    So, what do you think?
Am I just an idiot with a crazy dream that will never get listened too? Probably. But I want to hear what you guys have to say. So leave your comments below

Nexon continuously brings out new classes and character slots which make players overuse training grounds. This is why I get bored easily. As you said, they need to take advantage of all the unused areas and reconstruct them so people don't have to train at the same places every time they make a new character. Anyways, not much we could do. It's not like they are going to listen to us specifically.

Isn't nexon reconstructing (buffing the mobs) the locked out places atm?
Also, I would like for more places besides WS2 and golems because I can't kill those mobs.

I started playing Maplestory 7 years ago with my sister. Back then, we were lucky to get to level 20. For a whole week, we got stuck in Sleepywood, trying to get out but with no luck. Instead of wanting to get to the max level, or to try to achieve the most damage you could do, me and my sister did what I feel is the more important aspect, questing, and exploring. We quit after a year, and came back just recently. We go on youtube to catch up on Maplestory updates and such, what we see are many videos focused on how to get to lvl. 200 or lvl. 250 fast. In every single one you just see, golems, CDs, roids, R&J PQ. And I'm sad to say, that is true. This post is correct, there are hundreds of areas, hundreds of quests, that people just skip completely, purely because it isn't an efficient place to level. So I do hope Nexon balances the different monster's exp, and possibly add different quest story lines with different, but balanced rewards that would drive people to explore more areas and more quests.
