Do you think RED possibly revived GMS?

As stated in my introduction thread, I first went on a hiatus from Maplestory in general after Big Bang for about 2 years because of schoolwork. When I came back, there was a moderate amount of players in my server, Bera. A lot of things had changed since I went on a hiatus, including all the new classes, new locations, new training spots, etc. I made a Kanna and my initial impression was that it was A LOT easier to level. I figured it could be the better leveling curve, but as my kanna leaned towards lvl 100, I decided that it was because of all the new godly, yet somewhat systematic training spots/methods. Tbh there was only one super popular training route that time: Skeletons->Scarescrows->Jesters->Aliens->LHC. I was pretty much guilty of that as that was exactly how I trained my Kanna. Things got even easier at LHC, as it's mostly party play there and most parties CRAVED for Kishin, which is a Kanna skill that increases the spawn rate, and I got to leech there all the way till the day before Unleashed, the ultimate nightmare for many players, came on. With Unleashed, almost everything was nerfed, and the leveling curve also seemed to get a lot more worse. It was a nightmore to train from 120-160, and my poor Kanna was stuck at 124. In fact it still is. I won't lie, I didn't like it, and I took another break shortly after that. I also noticed that there were a lot less players according to the indicators. I honestly thought that marked the decay of GMS.

However, with RED, I was given more hopes, and I thought the break was long enough. With all the excitements and supports from my friends in Bera, I came back and made a Shadower. I also noticed that almost EVERY channel was full it was almost insane.

What do you think? Did RED revive the popularity of GMS in your opinion?

I think every time the GMS population starts to dwindle between alright, to low, they always seem to add an update to save the community from leaving. And this is successful, but only for a short time, and the same thing repeats. I stopped playing for a long time and I just recently came back, I have friends that mention to me that they'd love to start playing on GMS again, but just too many of the players are leaving because they feel like it is so NX cash related, and that it is P2W. So I hope RED does revive the population for a good time to come. And damn, explorers truly did need that rework, to make it seem more viable for players since that new more overpowered classes are being released.

Yeah, I think RED will revive GMS because of the Commerci area and the populations of the servers seem to rize a lot.

I think they fkd up Maple real good with the Big Bang update. They say every new update is their ''biggest'' but really... Big Bang changed everything. For the worse in my opinion.
I still look back at the fond memories of the past, when seeing a level 200 was unreal, when even the best could only hit 10k at max, the old LudiPQ... Moments like those will probably never be relived.

RED did NOT revive GMS. Nothing can revive something that has been utterly broken for a very long time. Alot of friends left when Big Bang came out, including my dad oo. They still want to play but they can't stand the new stuff.
It just doesn't have the same feeling to it.

I just play it today cuz i still find Maple entertaining, with the ''new'' classes and such.

I actually believe that RED did revive GMS as more players became intrigued with the patch. It slowly died down but didn't go as low as it did before the RED update

I think red has made its population from since tempest grow but I don't think it completely revived it, its population is around 33k now but around 2011 it was 150k.

then everyone had they're fun and just left again...
if they would do more patches like red then maybe there would be hope for GMS
