    1) Introduction

    Hey guys, and welcome to my shitty (Well, sure, you might think it's not, but I am not confident about my guide-making skills.) Post-Tempest Phandumb Guide! "Wait, why are you calling it Phandumb? You're making a guide, aren't you supposed to be positive about it?" WELL FUCK YOU I DO WHAT I WANT. Okay, back to the introduction. I'm Ethan from leafre.net (People who feel like stealing this, just put your name there or something and put my name in the credits. Thanks, fuckers.) and this is my first guide.

    Phantom is the 4th Hero introduced to MapleStory. Heroes are 5 classes whose storylines revolve around the Black Mage and him being sealed. He is a thief who uses LUK (Luck. You probably knew that but okay) as the primary stat and DEX (Dexterity) as his secondary stat. Now, after Tempest, there is no need for secondary stats until you get 999 base LUK. Auto-Assign also pumps all your AP (Ability Points) into LUK for you, so no more massive clicking on the tiny little up button for hours to pump it all in! If you have max LUK, it'll pump it into DEX for you.
    Phantom uses Canes, a weapon specifically for Phantom himself, along with Cards, which are essentially useless except for letting you attack and being an extra item to use Potential on. Phantom also has the unique ability to steal non-passive skills from Adventurers/Explorers (depends on which version of MapleStory you play; KMS = Adventurers, GMS = Explorers. It's just the name that's different, don't worry)

    2) Story

    A century ago, he was famous among the wealthy merchants and noblemen. He deliberately left traces when stealing, and even then people did not even know who he was. They called him "Phantom".

    Throughout Maple World, Phantom was honored. However, the death of Aria, the Empress before Cygnus, with whom he had fallen in love with while trying to steal the great treasure of Ereve, caused him to join the Heroes to take revenge on the Black Mage. He seeked one of the heroes, Freud, for an invitation, and he was most welcome. After a fierce battle, he and the other four heroes sealed away the Black Mage and saved the Maple World. However, due to the curse inflicted by the Black Mage, all heroes except for Freud, who died in the battle, were trapped in ice and went into a deep sleep.

    A hundred years later, Phantom reawakens from the curse. He infiltrates Ereb/Ereve, where a meeting is being held. Hilla, a commander of the Black Wings poses as an Empress by showing a Skaia (a jewel said to glow in the hands of the Empress [coughHomestuck reference?cough]) that glows in her hands but doesn't glow in Cygnus's [Cygnus'? whatever I don't give a shit about this grammar].

    Luckily, Phantom comes to the rescue. He calls the Skaia held by Hilla a fake and destroys it, saying that the real Skaia is in his hands. This causes Hilla to back off and flee from Ereb/Ereve, although she tells him that the Maple World is already in "his" hands. Phantom then gives Cygnus the real Skaia and returns to the Crystal Garden/Lumiere.

    A friend who loved the Maple World has came back to defend it and battle the Black Mage a second time. The Phantom Thief has returned.

    - Phantom - MapleWiki - the free MapleStory database anyone can edit

    3) Equipment

    Phantom uses Canes and Cards (as I said in the Introduction if you bothered to read that). Canes are 1-handed weapons.
    You can buy some of them from this bitch.

    3a) Canes
    Canes have a Fast attack speed, require no DEX whatsoever, and have 7-8 slots.

    Canes that you would care about

    Novice Cane - Level 10
    27 ATK, 7 Slots
    Requires LUK 30
    Raven Horn Crimson Cane (simply: Empress Cane, Empress Mop [as the KMS English community calls it]) - Level 140
    ATK 131, DEX +20, LUK +35, ACC +100, Battle ATK +5, 8 Slots
    Requires LUK 420

    3b) Cards
    Cards are Phantom's secondary weapon, which have no use except for allowing you to attack and being an item that you can Potential and be more OP than you need to be.

    Carte Magique - Level 10
    Carte Fantasmatique - Level 30
    Carte Magnifique - Level 60
    Carte Finale - Level 100

    4) Pros and Cons
    Pros Cons
    Able to steal skills, allowing for a variety of playstyles Low defense
    High avoid Low HP
    Luck of Phantom Thief/Final Feint is a free wheel with a cooldown Really shitty DPS. HPS? Fuck that.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    7) Nerf Info
    1) The biggest blow to Phantom is when switching stolen skills, after switching, there's a 30 second cooldown before you can use it. Say you have Holy Symbol and Combo Attack. You currently have HS equipped. You decide to switch skills by double clicking Combo Attack. You try buffing. You can't. There's a 30 second cooldown. You spam the Talent of Phantom Thief III/Impeccable Memory III button until you buff. After the 30 seconds are up, you can use the skill you switched into (in this case, Combo Attack) whenever you want. It only effects in between the skill switching.
    2) Also, stolen buffs' durations have been cut in half. (ex. 180 sec [original skill] -> 90 sec [Phantom])
    3) Aria's Prayer has been nerfed by 10% Damage.
    4) Ultimate Drive has been nerfed by 10% Damage, although the Ultimate Drive - Reinforce totally negates that by adding 20% damage, so you essentially get a 10% Ultimate Drive buff.
    5) A bunch of skills have been nerfed in general; either being damage or cooldown duration so I'm going to be lazy and not tell you them all.
    6) If other classes' skills got nerfed, then your stolen skill gets nerfed too. This isn't your fault, it's Nexon's. (Although it was like that before Tempest but there was no other place to put it so...)
    One thing:
    Add colors to the cards' names in the Judgement skill, to the cards' colors respectively. It'll be much easier for the eye to read instead of this mashed up black text.
    Other than that, excellent guide, very organized, deserves a like!
    Nah. It's not worth mentioning really
    It's still a nerf no matter how you look at it.
    Add in 80% Damage increase from hyperskills sure but
    It doesn't change the fact the damage from Ultimate Drive could be 10% higher :P
