Thread: JapanMS Registration Guide [Updated]

It seems people have had trouble registering for an account lately and since our JMS forums went down quite a while ago, we haven't had a registration guide in quite a long time. I've always thought it should be up to the player to be able to register for themselves before they could play, but since the JMS English community basically consists of two active players, I've changed my mind to give you guys a guide on how to register.


Creating a Nexon ID


Step 1 : For starters, go to the main MapleStory website and click the big orange button that says "かんたんID登録." Alternatively, click the button below.





Step 2 : Clicking that orange button should take you to a registration form full of moon runes. This is to make your Nexon ID, which will be different from your Maple ID. I'll make this part simple by giving you an image that shows what each field asks for. Just fill in your desired information as following :





Step 3 : Once you're done filling out the form as so, click on the big orange button under it that says "入力内容と利用規約の確認へ" to be sent to a page to confirm your desired account information and terms of use. It will be displayed as following :





If all of the information shown on the page is as desired, scroll down and click the big orange button that says, "同意して確認メールを送信" to have a verification e-mail sent to your inbox. If any of the information is incorrect or not what you desire it to be, click the grey button on the left that says, "入力画面にもどる" to be sent back to the registration form.



Step 4 : As the image shows after verifying the account information, go to your e-mail inbox and click the link to complete your registration.

Your Nexon ID is now successfully registered. Now, click on the image below or the image shown after you verified with your e-mail account to go to the MapleStory ID registration page.





Creating a Maple ID


Step 1 : This is the easiest part. You just have to fill out your Nexon ID information in the top section and then your desired MapleStory account information in the bottom.




Click the big orange button that says, "この内容で登録" to register an account with those credentials.


Step 2 : As with the Nexon ID, you will be sent with a form that lists your MapleStory ID account information.




If your information is entered as desired, click the big orange "メイプルIDを登録" button. If not, press the big grey "入力画面にもどる" button to go back to the MapleStory registration form to change anything you'd like.

Your Nexon ID and MapleStory ID are both fully registered! You can now log into the game! Just click the big button following the registration or down below to be sent to the game's download link.







Activating use of the Maple Trade System (MTS)


Recently, Nexon Japan changed things up a bit by requiring your Nexon IDs to be manually set to have allowance to access to MTS or MTS-like systems in various Nexon Japan games. This process is very simple, but I will guide you through this, since I know a lot of you probably won't understand enough Japanese to get yourself through this process alone.

Step 1 : First off, you need to log into the main Nexon Japan point charging site.



You need to type in your Nexon ID and its password for this. If you get a popup, just click "ok." It will then redirect you to a captcha. Just type out the Hiragana (it will always be Hiragana) you see in the image in the text box.




Step 2 : Once you have logged in, you will see a list of things in the green box you can select to do. Click on the right-most button labeled "Nexonポイントセキュリティー," as shown below :



This will bring you to a new page, detailing information about Nexon Point charging security and whatnot (if you haven't noticed yet, they use HTTPS, so it's definitely secured). What you want to do now is scroll down. You will see a ton of check boxes with moon runes next to them. These are in-game services you can select to make use of. Pick whatever you want to use for games you play. It should look something like this :



Once you have checked boxes next to the games you desire to play, click the button below it labeled "チェックを入れた頂目のNEXONポイント使用/トレードシステイム利用を有効にする" (as you can see in the image above). After that, it will send you to page that says :



It says it has sent an e-mail to you to verify the point system settings changes. Click the link as I've highlighted in red in the image below to complete the verification process :



You will then need to log back into the point site page. After you have done that, it will redirect you to the list of games you have requested point use services for, like so :

You now have access to the MTS in MapleStory as well as the usage of points in whatever games you have selected to use Nexon Points with.


*Do note that things may change in the future if Nexon Japan decides to change the registration process. Please notify me if there are any changes or if there is anything missing from this guide you think should be added.

I'm not sure what would be causing it. It doesn't like something on your other computer, for some reason. You do not need to be logged into the site to download the game client, though. You can just go here and download the client.

Yes, it's supposed to happen, unless you live in Japan. It's an IP block. You need a VPN to get around it.
