    Celebrate!

    I hate Halloween

Because it's the same day as my birthday.
Being a kid it's fun because you dress up and go get candy. When you're older, the fascination of getting candy isn't really that great. I'm not a big candy person. And dressing up isn't my thing either. I just don't find it appealing or fun. If you dress up, okay cool, but it's not for me.

Halloween being on my birthday just plain out sucks once you're older. Everything is themed out as spooky and scary and stuff. It's just tiring having that on your birthday. After like 20 years it's just boring and annoying. I'm not a big fan of being scared either. So if I were to go out for my birthday to some themed park, it's gonna be filled with Halloween, spooky stuff. Oh and not to mention, because it's Halloween, expect many places to be closed, so I'm limited to where I could go. But if you were to go out to an open place, it'll be crowded as fuck. Yeah, try enjoying your time like that.

So my options are limited to going to some scary themed park, a crowded event, or both.

    Overall it fucking sucks.

I thought you would probably go to some restaurant to have some good dinner or something but yeah I totally can feel how it sucks having your birthday falling on a festive like Halloween

Ah the nostalgic times. Our understanding of Halloween in Korea (at least back in the 90s) was limited if known at all, so when I first immigrated to the West... I went batshit in Halloween, to say it the least lol. I stole the city map from the school, pre-planned which communities to hit (calculating the likelyhood of getting decent treats based on the community, logistics... kinda reminds me of the South Park episode about tooth fairy actually). We start at 5:45pm and come back roughly at 1AM with minimal breaks and rests (cause those are for sissies). We'd have enough loots to fill number of garbage bags, and we'd ration the treats till most people finish their treats. After that, we sell as commodities in cafeteria. Now that I think about it, the margin was shit but man those were the awesome times.

I buy two boxes worth of treats, one would be left in front of my door and how that's abused or not is not my problem and another box is sent to donations. I'm getting soft.

I'd too love to see how Japan celebrates Halloween; Japan is infamous for using foreign cultural references, and unleash the WTF factor. Oh btw, happy birthday.

I feel your pain as my birthday falls on a holiday (Thanks giving) all i do is sit there look grown up only get one present (which i cant really complain about) and are stuck with family that gets a little to thankful (drunk) I also have to sit and cook half the stuff which i do not know why and tend to everything on my birthday.

So... with that said the feeling is Very Mutual.
