    Spamming Reprecussions

*sigh* It really annoys me, it really does. I'm fine with a little here and a little there, but the spam from the new members lately is getting out of hand.
I look through the New Posts section, and I almost always find that they are all necroed, and or spammed in by some new idiot who has decided that they wish to get their KMS account immediately, and that they shouldn't have to put any effort into what they say on the forums what so ever.

I not only find this, but I find at least 10 of the exact same posts a day, asking the exact same questions, in more and more annoying ways. This has got to stop. It makes them look bad, gets us angry at them, and makes the site look like a site full of spammers. It is bad for everyone. I propose a thread that is constantly at the top of every section that states the repercussions of spamming. I believe that for this type of useless, unhelpful spam, we should have harsher punishments.

Obviously just infracting them, telling them not to, or slapping them on the wrist isn't helping matters. Now, in many cases, this might work, but in many cases, none of these processes work. I propose that instead of all of that, a few things should be instated. Although I am not 100% sure if it is even remotely possible, I believe that for people who have not yet reached level 5 should be limited to X amount of posts per hour or day. If this was to be instated, many things would change for the better. People would actually have to think about what they post before posting it, there would be less "I WANNA GET MY ACCOUNT NOW" spam.

Not only this, but it would slow down the pace at which the new members can apply to get their accounts, which would make the account maker's jobs a good lot easier. As punishment for this annoying spam, I really think that if you are found to be spamming at any time before having reached level 5, then you get one warning, and any and all spam found up until that post loses its post worth.

If more spam is made by the person, then the person loses their chance at getting a KMS account. If this is found to be too harsh, there could be an in-between step in which the person is temporarily banned from posting, and their spam posts lose their post worth.

This would truly leave a mark on people, and would help prevent spam. Also, as another suggestion, people could apply, or be chosen to be given a title of some sort that enables them to initiate the spam punishment process. These people could either be the ones who directly inflict the punishment, or they could have direct contact with the moderators. Of course the current staff would have the same abilities, although this would take the weight off of their shoulders when it comes to spam cases.

The spam is very common and gets much worse during Summer/Winter patches.
I can't limit the amount of posts per hour. Day, yes. But I feel like that's unnecessary to the handful who come here that don't want an account.

The only problem with that is, it requires tons of work and there's only so much of us. Leo does check post history but to constantly tug me or a mod to say "hey, get this guys' points to ___" would be an extreme hassle.

    We've tried several things.
I did put a warning system on old topics that you may be infracted. Example: http://leafre.net/showthread.php?115...er-1-2-157-(2)
I also made newly registered users force read to this thread: http://leafre.net/showthread.php?425...-Level-and-You
I increased points given when you post and decreased the activity level required.

There's only so much you can do before you cross the line.

I wouldn't blame them though, I would be doing the same thing if I hadn't made an account so long ago.

@KremeChoco Well, as I had said, it doesn't necessarily have to be a thing in which the spam reporting people tell you about it. You could give the people that apply, or the people that are chosen the ability to temporarily ban someone from the forum or from posting, to give the warnings, and to create a list of people who should be automatically denied upon trying to apply. I would teach people not to spam, and it would help the account creators in having one less thing to check. If they don't have to check someones post history, or at least not as thoroughly, then they could dish out more accounts faster, or could have more to time do other things, Leafre related or not. Anyhow, what's your opinion on this part, @KremeChoco ?

Okay, you obviously have some issue with what I said. How about instead of insulting me by changing what I said into absolutely nonsense, you come out and say it?

Much better. I'll fix it. I wrote it in the chat box, and I've never been amazing when it comes to spacing out paragraphs, although usually I go back in to edit things, although I did not have the time in this case. Thank you for editing it for me. Although, why was it that in your original quote you had it spell out nonsense?

I was just making your post shorter so it would be easier for people to go down and stuff....

In your next post, yes, but in your first one, you quoted me and replaced what I had said with "ggfrgfgfr". And then said "You need to learn how to write in paragraphs". I was wondering why you had replaced what I have said with ggfrgfgfr.
