    Question How does eKMS work?

    does eKMS have to be updated every new set of content comes out, or does it translate like a google translate, where it is instant not pre-translated and put into a file.

    EKMS is basically text edits (not too sure on specifics)
    It is updated from time to time, and will not translate some things, such as certain npc text or other koreans speaking. (or new content)
    EKMS is a file (.wz) edit to the actual game files to display different text.
    I personally don't like it because its more hassle to patch and unpatch, which is needed every new new nexon patch.
    Also pictures are usually good enough to tell if you're familar with gms, since all text from GMS that exist in kms are the same.

    To be more specific, it's a .wz edit that uses the String.wz. The String.wz is all the files that revolve around words or names. I'm not sure what the actual eKMS patcher and whatnot does, but I'm quite sure it does something similar to a program called AutoPatcher (or something along the lines of that).

    What it does is it checks the files and updates them based on the difference between two files, there's a bit more in the code to allow for additional information to be bypassed, I'd assume, but that's generally what happens.

    Example:

    In the String.wz 1002083 is called ㅗ디ㅣㅐ (it really isn't, and kudos to you if you know what that is, hurr hurr.)

    If you change it to be Banana, then when you get the item 1002083 it'll be called Banana, regardless of it's real name. You can also edit descriptions inside the String.wz.

    The actual name for 1002083 is Black Bandana in GMS, I can't view the KMS ones with the software that I have.

    Pictures are located in the Item.wz, but don't mess with that because of problems stated in other sections. For more information on what each .wz is for, please... I don't really know what to do, because information on it could be considered exploitation as that's what the information is generally used for.

    We (the leafre staff) don't update the eKMS files unless a huge huge huge major patch comes and messes up the translations. It doesn't need to be updated most of the time. Whenever we feel like it we may add something to it that wasn't there before, such as more quest translations and such.
